IMO, definitely go with 2K4. being able to use AS 2.0 and create
classes and have your movie clips and components be able to inherit the
properties of those classes is such a powerful feature. The strict data
typing does take a little getting used to but once you do it's pretty
cool. The only issue is they haven't released Flash Remoting for AS 2.0
or Flash Remoting Components V2, so if want to use Flash Remoting you
have to stick with AS 1.0.

Subject: Flash MX or 2004?

(I sent this at lunchtime but it hasn't shown up. Apologies in advance
if
duplicates happen.)

I've got a couple Flash projects coming up. They won't be heavy
programming,
but there will be some code. One of them will store collected data to
send
to a
database later.

So my question is, should I go with MX or MX 2004? I have both (but only
Standard for the 2004 version). I can muddle my way through ActionScript
but
I haven't used 2.0 much yet. In fact, I've only looked at it enough to
know
that it's more strict about some things which could be annoying.

I'm looking to buy some books too but before I do, is it really worth it
to
work with 2004 or should I just stick with MX?

-Kevin
