The fact is that a palestinian group claimed responsibility for the act
initially, and then retracted that statement.
THe fact is that the world community has denounced Israel's actions against
the palestinians as amounting to war crimes, and have labelled the country a
racist and apartheid state. When Israel walked out of these talks, the
United States followed.
It is also a fact that several Palestinian terrorist groups revelled in the
streets over the tragedy taking place in America.
That was sickening.
So I can't blame America for harbouring both anti israeli, and anti
palestinian sentiment now...and not giving a sh** about eithe rside and just
wanting america OUT of there. That's what I've been hearing around the
place.
Now you have Kmart stopping the sale of guns from its stores. You have a
prominent newscaster saying as a result fo this Americans will have to
accept new limits to their freedom.
You have several of the brightest CEOs and Financial Leaders probably dead
or dying in the rubble of the World Trade Center.
You have several prominent and high ranking Generals probably dead as well.
You also have a report issued in February stating that the US Intelligence
was not equipped, and was not taking the steps necessary against a
'conventional' attack such as this. Even Tom Clancy wrote about something
like this happening in his novels. Was there a way to anticipate and prevent
this? Osama said he was going to do something unprecedented to the US as an
act of terrorism last week.
And you have me stuck in this country for I don't know how long, facing
whatever the hell else happens in the days to follow.
( the latter fact I find complete unbelievable still ;-) )

comment on the similarities between this attack and the attack on Pearl
