The means are not so different from the Goering quote of a week or so ago. Take an excerpt from that quote and replace the word patriotism with God (or belief in god or religion, or different beliefs). Then exchange the word country with "our way of life"

The world would be no different without religion. We would still fight over our differences and try to get others to live the way we want them to. The call to arms would be different but it would still be there.
