My take is this... Gun's are a necessary evil in today's world. Americans
are obsessed with their constitutional right to own one and to use it.
Unless you are a hunter or in law enforcement I really see no need for them;
in a perfect world that is. I do however realize that there are people in
this world that like to break into homes and rape woman and hurt people
physically and guns CAN prevent this. The problem I have is that we give
them to just about anyone and even if you are denied legally, you can go to
DC down on Rhode Island avenue and pick one up anyway! The bigger problem I
see is all the gun freaks (you who Northern Virginians :-) ) that think they
need to carry them while mowing their lawn and to the grocery store and
everywhere in between.

You can say "guns don't kill people, people kill people" but the truth is
that without guns in so many hands the number of murders and deaths would
decrease... Especially those accidental guns where the shit for brains
parents left the gun accessible to the children who curiously found it and
blew their head off.

The sad thing is that guns will always be around, I just wish people weren't
so proud to own one and to say they use it....

Oh, and mandatory training and retraining should be required; maybe like
every 6 months. I also think parents should be held responsible if accidents
happen with children and guns within the home.

I could go on and on...
