Thanks - I think I will move to the BSD one.  Yesterday I had decided to use
the Free Academic License (which is essentially the same as the Open
Software License except it lacks the requirement for derivative works to be
licensed).  But it's still quite long. vastly better than the GPL, but still
long.  (Personally I find the GPL much, MUCH too ideological - cutting out
the opinion, the philosophy and the examples would shorten it down to a
nicely usable form.)

I was surprised (and a little annoyed) that the OSI site offers no
information on choosing a license at all.  It seems that would be a
fundamental part of their charter.

As for the clause about selling the original code I'm willing to lose it,
but that's one of my fundamental issues with the Open Source movement.  The
problem I have is that free software doesn't favor the author of the
software but rather marketing skills.  I don't want to argue the point (it's
an old, very hashed point) but I'm still on the "let's the make them do some
work before they can make a profit" side of the fence.

Still since the sum total profits from all of my "open source" extensions
and tags for the past 6 years equals $35 I'm willing to forgo my stake.  ;^)
