anyone have a HD clue?

OK I am bowing to necessity... I need a new hard drive. Ideally a portable external drive maybe? I find I am carrying a lot of very large files around at the moment. Still making it work with a CD burner, but... maybe an external HD would be better.

Anyway, I do not have a lot of time to research this so I would appreciate hearing about anyone's positive experiences with specific brands or retailers.

Cost is a consideration but not the only one -- reliability and capacity will matter too.

Thanks for any replies; looking through Froogle and may have questions later about specific propositions.
