I agree whole-heatedly. I want to make sure here that people make the
distinction between aggression and hatred, retribution and racism. I've
seen people call other people Nazi's because they disagree with someone
else's opinions. I've seen other responses to posts calling others racists
because they seek retribution against those that did this. Wanting Osama
Bin Laden's head on a stick is not racist. Wanting to eliminate those that
support him is not hatred. Wanting to eliminate those who are from the
middle east, have middle eastern descent, or resemble someone who does IS
racist. That IS hatred. It is those things because it defies logic. It
defies reason. Now I haven't read every single post on this topic. I am
just way too busy at work to do so. But I have seen a consistent reply to
those who support action as being labeled racist or as being filled with
hate. People are angry, but that does not mean that they hate.
This is going to sound dramatic, but it is not meant to be so. This is just
plain, stark reality. I left military service in April of 98. I am on
inactive status until April 2002. That means that I am on a short list of
people to be called back if they need personnel to fill billets. I am a
little scared about going away to possibly not come back. I am not scared
because I fear death. I don't. I am afraid because I have a 9 month old
son and the thought of leaving him behind tears me apart. But what scares
me even more is that my wife is also former military. She can be called
back also. We held the type of job that cost the government a lot of money
to train us so they will want to get their money's worth. That's not
speculation, that's fact. (We are both military intelligence linguists and
spent over two years training before we actually got to a regular duty
station). The thought of my son without us, the fear in his eyes when he is
without his mommy and daddy makes me want to cry, and I don't cry very
easily. For people in New York and else where, that is a reality. People
on those planes and in those buildings were moms and dads, sons and
daughters, husbands and wives. They are experiencing the loss that I fear
might happen to me. For them it is very real. Because of that, I want to
go back. I want to go back for my son, for those people that died, for
those kids without parents, those parents without children, and those
husbands and wives without their spouses.
If you think that makes me filled with hatred or a racist then so be it.
You have your opinion. But I want blood. I want the blood of those
responsible. And we will have it.
