I change the oil on my diesel truck because most people want to charge
out the nose (around $80.00)  because it's "diesel".  Walmart sells
the same oil for $6.50 a gallon and I need 2.5 gallons.  Filter $5.00.
My cost $24.50.

Chevy also want to charge me $250.00 to change the fuel filter and the
tranny filter.  Together both filters cost $30.00.  Took me 25 minutes
to change the fuel filter (just cause it was so darn hard to get a
strap wrench in there) and the tranny filter was just like an oil
filter that screwed off by hand.

Plus, I have a hard time trusting that mechanics will actually do what
they're saying.  I have to mark parts that they have to replace just
so that I can have peace of mind.
