tell them , you'd love to do it, that you have  another client who wants
you to work immediately, and in order to push the other one out of the
way, you need more CAKE :)

  client will backoff.  What do I say then?!! Heh

  Personally what I would say depends on:

  A: How important is that $400 to me right now, could I earn more with
  the time I will spend doing the work for this $400.

  B: Are they other factors that affect the price, doing a favor for a
  friend, or getting a foot in some door for example.

  C: Is the job worth it.  Will I ultimately spend way too much time and
  effort and frustration for very little return!
