We went to my folk's house on a lake in Northern WI. The weather
sucked, but being a good mommy, I still got in the water with my son,
who was determined to get in the water whether the sun was out or not.
While I was all wet, I did some water skiing. Unfortunately, the rope
had tangled around the depth finder on the back of the boat. So, as I
was cutting the wake, the depth finder broke off, and I suddenly had
lots of slack in the rope. Yipe. I managed to stay upright, though,
and my dad was only mildly pissed about the depth finder.

We also got to see this year's batch of young bald eagles - 2 of them
this year. There's a nesting pair that always come back to the same
huge old pine tree on a little backwater called "cranberry bog."

I slept through the fireworks, since it was rainy and nasty and we
would have had to go out on the boat to actually see them. Oh well.
