Thank for the idea but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.  I intend to "entice" the user(s) with some viewable options (goodies), but not selectable right when he selects the select box but not when making a selection.  Yours seems some sort of workaround, sorry won't work for my case.  I don't get it why IE 6.x does not support it.  The concept of "You can see it but you can't have it" so prevailing!  Man, I don't know what else to say.  Ben, radio buttons, as you realizes as well, won't do it.
