host CFMX out there" noob question. This is looking for a specific
feature, and I'd like some feedback if at all possible.
In a nutshell, I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive (>=$100/month or
so) shared hosting environment where (and here's the kicker) I not only
have a static IP, but I can guarantee that particular IP is passed
through the entire request. We're building a CFMX app that's built off
of web services, and it's wicked fast, but the web services require an
IP check along with its other security settings. Consequently, we have
a number of occasions where our application will retrieve no data since
the IP address isn't in our user settings in the service provider's
application.
So far, I can't get a straight answer from hosting providers I've
checked out. If at all possible, I'd like to avoid buying a rack server
and going that route, since this is ultimately a temporary solution.
The requirements for the hosting environment are CFMX 6.1 (6.0
grudgingly accepted), unique IP, some database/ODBC support (doesn't
need to be incredible, uploading an MDB will be fine), and CFINVOKE and
CFSCHEDULE rights.
Make sense? Am I just SOL with this, or does anyone know of a host that
will allow this sort of IP behavior?
