system of polygamy, polyamourus partners are equal in all aspects of the
relationship. If more than two people want to explore relationships in this
way, should it be any different than marriage between 2 people?
Actually one of the arguments against gay marriage that I have heard is that
if marriage between 2 people of the same sex is allowed, then the slippery
slope will allow group marriages.

I wonder how you'd feel about your daughter being one of his wives?
The idea of multiple spouses is not an appealing idea to the majority of
people, who would see that situation as victimizing people. It is this
belief system of the majority that therefore casts polygamy as against the
law.
LIke it or not, you're behavior will always be regulated by a belief system.
You must then choose the society who's beliefs most closely mirror
yours....perhaps 19th century Utah :)

Like what two consenting adults do in the privacy of
their home/hotel room. Or if this guy wants to have three wives, heck let
him. It's his problem, not mine. Victimizing anyone, children included
should of course not be allowed. But regulating my behavior in other areas
based on a belief system that is fundamentally flawed is the problem here.
