An interesting look at potential tech solutions to hijacked planes. Doesn't
solve anything outright, but a good'n'quick statement of state of
development.

Defeating the hijackers:
We used to assume that hijackers want to negotiate. Now we know that some
are ready to end their own lives in order to turn an aircraft into a
fuel-laden, 200-tonne guided missile. Is there anything aviation engineers
can do to stop suicidal terrorists taking control of a plane? Paul Marks,
Catherine Zandonella and Justin Mullins investigate emerging "biometric
systems", which can verify that the person flying the plane is the bona fide
pilot, and the pros and cons of sealed cockpits.
