worked for an electrician as an apprentice. He had a maintenance
contract with a slaughterhouse.
While you could give up on chicken, there's also beef, pork, milk and
other dairy products. The food industry's goal is to produce food the
cheapest way possible. That may mean cruelty.
As an alternative to giving up on chicken/meat/etc. why not look at
alternatives such as free-range and some form of organically grown or
cruelty free meat. Its much more expensive, but less guilt producing.
Myself I'll just continue to eat meat etc as I've been doing.
