Yes, but we have to be realistic. I'm an obvious Jew. I wear a Yarmulka
(skull cap). I keep the Sabbath and holidays. I keep strict Kosher. Just by
those actions I'm an 'outsider'. I can't go to a church and take part in a
ceremony as its against my religion to take part in the ceremonies of other
religions. Polititions have to do that. I can't eat a hot dog at a baseball
game in Ohio because it's not Kosher. Not eating the dog is an insult to
the people there (or where ever). I can't work on certain days. I can if
there's a life and death emergency but I can't fly to meet the king of
where ever because its his birthday.
There are many, many protocols involved in being president and I could not
(or would not) compromise myself to fulfill them. And this is all the nice
and normal stuff.
I know we had Liberman in the last election but let me tell you one thing.
As a Jew, he's not who I want to represent me. I'm not perfect but when I'm
being put up into the national and international spotlight as "the Jew", I
had better be on the best religions, moral, physical, social, etc. behavior
I can be. Eating on the second most important fast of the year and the most
sorrowful day of the year is not showing that I'm living up to my
convictions. Saying things that are 'politically correct' but not Torah
correct.....
I could be president if I compromised my ideals. I wouldn't do that.
