Better I think, thank you. The consensus seems to be that I will live
:) and that's not a joke, actually.  Still taking antibiotics just in
case but some really BIG doses of ibuprofen seem to be helping a lot
with both pain and swelling.

The really big question is do I have to stop taking interferon. They
still are not really sure whether the thrombophlebitis was or was not
caused by an infection -- it may or may not be apparently -- and
probably not any happier about the lack of certitude than I am.

The liver doctor was saying he could not keep suppressing my immune
system if I had an infection I wasn't kicking, but the infectious
disease doctor he brought in to take a look said it was not a staph
infection. I've been very firmly instructed to make sure someone takes
another look at this on Thursday before I take the next dose of
interferon. I hope the redness is all gone. The interferon is working
and I hate to fiddle around with something that is doing what it is
supposed to.
