How about this ... Islamic missionaries go into Arab nations and convert
fundamentalists into a faith more in keeping with what the Koran really
teaches?

How about intervention programs at the colleges and universities where the
Bin Ladens of the world recruit the rootless and the easily confused?

How about infiltration of terrorist networks for better intelligence.

How about Russia giving aide and support to the Northern Alliance, for which
the NATO repays Russia?

How about the U.S. present its evidence to some sort of World tribunal that
would try the suspects, in absentia probably, and if an Arab is guilty, an
Arab nation be charged and equipped with bringing the guilty to justice?

These are just some wild thoughts in the face of what regrettably is a
pretty hopeless situation.

I suspect our only option is a military option of some sort -- most likely,
special forces go in and try to capture the suspects. Possibly missile
strikes against government and military targets of the country(ies)
protecting the suspects.

Subject: Re: An Afghani-American's point of view

The problem is, there is no real solution. Lets look at them:
1. We attack, win and get Bin Laden. Innocents die with the guilty and
America is the big bad guy. World War 3 starts with the west vs. Islam
2. We attack, lose and/or don't get Bin Laden. Innocents die with the guilty
and America is the big bad guy. World War 3 starts with the west vs. Islam,
America is seen as weak.
3. We do nothing. America is seen as weak and more attacks happen
4. We let the world courts and the UN handle it. Bin Laden never gets
captured, America is seen as weak and more attacks happen.
Pick one of the above or build your own. Its a maze and to get to the
ultimate prize is a one in a zillion chance. The goal is to get the
person/people who attacked America, not cause a war, not cause more attacks
and not make America look weak.
