I encourage you strongly to do good research before you go.
Many Chiropractors have very little training and what training they do have
is steeping in pseudo-scientific, semi-mystical nonsense (for example did
you know that sublaxations of the spine, when corrected, can eliminate
cancer? Such sublaxations do, in fact, cause 95% of ALL disease!). The
therapeutic value of spinal adjustments is highly questionable, but the risk
or damage (sometimes severe damage) is well known.
In fact the general rule of thumb is that if your chiropractor mentions
"sublaxations" with anything other than scorn RUN AWAY QUICKLY and find
another. The same goes for talk of "Nerve Energy" or spinal adjustments
curing disease, enhancing any sort of "energy" or providing relief from
emotional trauma. I would also run from any Chiropractor that claims that
spinal adjustment can eliminate the need for immunizations and anybody that
would consider adjusting a child younger than five.
Some Chiropractors, on the other hand, do have medical degrees and clearly
focus only on scientifically treatments and diagnoses. however they also
often shy away from "Chiropractor" label and stick with something more
generally applicable with less baggage like "Osteopath".
This site is a wealth of information on what to watch out for:

Look especially at the details of improper claims and see if your
prospective treatments providers use any of them.
