Either that or they're making more of a point about the fact that
Moore doctored their publication and want to have that message get
through more than the money they win from the case.
The other thing that it does is show to everyone watching that the
money isn't the issue for this case. Without the stated $1 settlement
there would be sure to be naysayers screaming that the whole suit was
financially driven.
