Most people install IIS with Windows and use the default settings. I place
all my webs on a separate drive from the OS and use a different directory
structures other than InetPub--WWWRoot

The problem here is not really IIS, the problem is the people out there who
are managing these servers, and home users who install these web servers
with out any idea what to do with.

I am not a huge fan of iis, but it is not a bad product. Many of these
worms are attacking holes that could easily be closed with 5-10 minutes of
work. You don't even need all of those patches to make sure you are ok.
