Actually it doesn't sound like you read it from your comment:

"I knew back then there were no WMDs but didn't tell anyone."

The article's point was that they did publish the articles, however they
made deep, internal pages.  This effectively made them less attention-worthy
than front page articles which generally reported the administration's POV.

Now whether that requires an "apology" or not I wouldn't say.  However
obviously they feel, upon review, that they had let their readers down.  I'm
all for organizations (of any stripe) accepting responsibility for their
actions.

Yes I read it and it a very Liberal paper claiming
that they were protecting Bush. Stupidist thing I
heard in a long time.
