So I'm working on my laptop out in the living room last night after everyone
else is asleep, and I turn on an OnDemand movie that I've seen before -- The
Hot Rock -- in the background.  I choose something I've seen before so I
don't get too distracted.  This movie was made in 1972 and I saw it in the
theater with my parents when it first ran.  Nice memory, so I settle in and
start working.

Then it gets to the helicopter scene, so I'm riveted since I've got a real
helicopter Jones going on.  They're flying through New York City, and right
there are the two WTC towers being built.  They look about 2/3 done, and
they're being built in layers so the lowest part has the exterior trim
attached (those vertical aluminum-looking lines that ran the length of the
towers), the top portion is rusted steel, and in between is the yellow
coating of fireproofing material that was supposed to protect them.

There are three or four good-length shots of them, and one shot is right up
on them.

I don't know why this shot depressed me more than all the others I've seen
in the movies of the fully built WTC towers, but it really did.

Respectfully,
