I've been dual for about 7 years now (ever since Windows started supporting
them and I got my first Matrox g400).  Once you get used to it you'll never
go back.

When developing I tend to have my main IDE (now Dreamweaver) open full
screen on one with test browsers and utilities open on the other.  It's also
nice to have to a clear parking spot for MSN Messenger that lets me see the
IM while still doing full screen work.

When I'm doing graphic work It's insanely sweet.  The file I'm working on is
opened full screen while all of the CorelDraw toolbars, roll-up and palettes
litter the second screen.  I can also run a sizable instance of Windows
Magnifier on the second screen for pixel-perfect work.

It's also very nice when you're learning something since you can work full
screen in the application and still have the manual open on the other
monitor.

Where it comes in really handy tho' is when you want to play a little.  ;^)
Add a TV card to the system and you've got a nice small TV on the second
monitor with room to spare for IM, TopStyle, or whatever while you're still
working full screen on the other.  Same goes for watching DVDs: I watched
the entire run of "Babylon 5" at my computer while working - even when the
movie is full screen you can still have DreamWeaver or Word opened full
screen on the other one.

Utterly brilliant.

Subject: Dual Monitors!

My first time using dual monitors, and so far it is a blast! Somet hings
I noticed is that I need a bigger table :)
And since plugging in the second monitor my CPU temperature has risen
from about 52 degrees celcius to 54 degrees celcius.
I am still trying to find a useful purpose to having two monitors
though.
Right now I'm just chatting on MSN on one, reading email on
another..browsing two websites side by side..silly things like that.I
got a program called Multimon to span the taskbar across the two
monitors as well.
I'm also thinking that perhaps I could have Dreamweaver open on one
monitor, and then a code editor on the other.
Anything else I should know about the dual monitor stuff?
