I put code in one window and a browser in the other for coding Web apps. Works great. I've been coding this way for a few years and it's always frustrating when I'm on the road and I only have my little laptop screen to use.
Matrox has a video card that will run three monitors, I would love to have three running. Then I could put email, IM, media player, all the other bits that I'm running in the background on the third monitor. Or you can use Linux and virtual desktop space, but that's more of a pain than it's worth if you ask me.
