Off an on - it's one of the those things that no matter how cool the
previews look could still suck (remember "Enter the Matrix").

There are actually quite a games with no "interface" on the game - some of
my all time favorites are the "Silent Hill" games. those games definitely
have shades of Lovecraft (of course what horror doesn't).  I'm intrigued in
"Call of Cthulhu" by the "insanity meter" (at least that's what it was
called last I remember) and how the game is supposed to change based on your
mental state.

That's not unique either (they tried similar things in "Clocktower 3" and
"The Thing" at least) but their implementation sounded pretty cool.

I'll be happy if the game can creep me out half as much as the first "Alone
in the Dark" did on my Pentium 75.  ;^)
