I have to second that sentiment... both of them actually (wtf is
neeble woo?) ... dealing with things like this and alzheimers are some
of the hardest things a person can do... you fight it tooth and nail,
you do everything you can think to do and then some, and all you get
out of it is this overwhelming feeling of impotence. Alzheimers runs
in my ex-wife's family -- her grandmother had it and now her mother
has it, although she was dumb and didn't bother to get checked
regularly in spite of knowing she was at risk, so now that they know,
she's too far gone for the medication to do anything but make her less
violent. I don't know how my ex will deal with it... I hope she gets
herself checked regularly... I do know that were it me, I wouldn't put
my family through the despair, I'd write each one of them a long
letter and end it while still lucid. My impression has been that
schizophrenia doesn't always give you time to make those kinds of
plans. I know a lot of people are offended by this view. It's a
difficult subject regardless of your situation or your feelings.
