The price point is still too high, and it is missing a touch screen, but otherwise I think it is dandy.
The day my mother can buy one at Walmart, plug it in on her kitchen counter is the day computers become simple household appliances.
The piece that is still missing is a household server in the closet that handles POTS, cable, movies on demand, Tivo, internet connectivity and x-10-like control over the household.

So what are the thoughts on the new iMac? I like its utilitarian feel
and simplicity. It'll be interesting to see how much ambient heat comes
out of the back of that thing, though, since everything's stuck in the
unit, including the power supply. My grandmother has the 15" iLamp
version from a couple of years back, and while I like the design of that
as well, the CD-ROM drive sounds like a hedge trimmer when it spins up.
I hope the SuperDrive in this generation's a little quieter.
