I agree that the statement had no real meaning.  Although I find your
invocation of an ancient Roman emperor disturbing and an explicit indication
of your desire to overthrow the American way of life.  ;^)

To be fair however the comments asserting vulgarity and sexual innuendos
weren't directed at Kerry but rather at some of the performers, Whoopi
Goldberg in particular.  Of course all THAT did was prove to her that some
people actually listen to her. something I find hard to believe.  But from
what I've heard the comments were definitely warranted considering her
performance.

Of course the "heart and soul" of America, if it has one, has to have a
substantial vulgar side to it.  There's a reason that the porn industry is
effectively recession-proof.  I truly enjoy seeing our politicians caught
swearing, having sex or otherwise being human - if anything it raises my
opinion of them.  Once we learn to embrace that dark-side I think we'll be
much better off.

Caesar's ghost!

I understand that his specific choice of words might have been a tad
confusing or distressing to ultra-conservatives who don't understand
the context, but if that's also where they're getting "... vulgar
sexual innuendos and crude insults belong in an official campaign for
the presidency of the United States" I'd have to say that either thay
are intentionally distorting what he said, or they are so completely
stupid that they shouldn't be trusted to manage their own bodily
functions. The fact that they're able to dress themselves in the
morning (I assume) makes me lean in the direction of believing the
former.
