Sam...
it's the 'right' Doug. What's unfortunate is that all anybody knows
for sure (as far as I know) is that Doug is a registered sex offender.
It's a fact, and an upsetting fact, given that Doug was a fairly
active member of the community.
What's not "right" IMO is that we don't know what happened recently.
I don't know that he's been arrested again. And if he hasn't, it's a
shame that the 'skeleton' in his closet has been made public for the
"wrong" reason(s).
But the fact of the matter is he left a lot of people (myself
included) hanging with web hosting. Hard to imagine that this is just
a 'misunderstanding' and that he's relaxing in his backyard right now.
If the truth is that he's having connectivity issues with SBC...then
why hasn't he contacted any of his customers to give a status report
(he can go to the library to get Internet access to send out e-mails).
It's now been 4-5 weeks since my site (or his) has been available.
If this were your hosting company...wouldn't you make an effort to
contact your customers to let them know what's going on?
I'd love for this to all be one big misundersatnding...and for about a
week (since I first heard the 'rumor') I hoped it was. Too many
different sources have now told me the same thing.
