we still want the site live by Monday, but can you just add the menus we saw
at "X").
I didn't look that long. but I picked the one that seemed more browser
compatible (and customizable) than any other. I'm not ready to blame the
author (yet). I may have done something wrong, but the one I'm using just
isn't working all that well. It seems to have some sort of caching problem
(everytime you open a menu it downloads everything again. and again. and
again) and you get that flash in FireFox (but not in IE so the clients don't
know what I'm concerned). ;^)
My preference would be to just get rid of the animated menus.
The pure CSS stuff looks really interesting, but unfortunately won't work
here: the clients use IE (and, actually, so do over 90% of the visitors) so
full IE support is absolutely essential.

In terms of menus have you thought about a pure CSS type menu, Eric
Meyer has a pretty good demo of one:
http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/edge/menus/demo.html.
So far its appears to be much more cross-browser compliant than the
dhtml based menus.
