moving towards peace or war. I think how the US moves is how the
world follows - this is a consequence of being the big boy and the big
economy on the block.
During the 90s, the world saw peace and prosperity. Since Mr. Bush
was elected the world has seen war. People will argue that "the
terrorists" started the war, but how do terrorists explain Iran's
sudden strong push to nuclearize? Or Mr. Putin's power grab? Or
North Korea's eviction of the weapons inspectors, cameras and control
rods?
I think those actions are taken during chaos or "the cone of
confusion". Bully's use fear, uncertainty, and doubt to grab power
and, the more chaos, the more FUD.
So, in my opinion, the world environment has been moving towards fear;
that's been fueled by Mr. Bush, and that's breeding fodder for
tyrants.

It really depends on what direction you think is best. In a recent
award's ceremony Helen Thomas, veteran white house press corp
correspondent since JFK turned columnist, stated, "If George Bush is
reelected we will have war without end. He has lighted a match that
will take us through this century."
Now I know that right-wingers like Sam are going to attack Helen
Thomas's character. Hell, it is a specific agenda by Karl Rove and Ari
Fliescher to discredit her. But when we were going into Afghanistan,
Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense, pushed a plan for "war
without borders" in which the US military would spread like wildfire
across the entire middle east regardless of threat.
So who's defining the "better direction" we are on track to follow?
