The President has already proven himself unable to resist spending.
Even if congress were to be in Democratic control, as long as there is
enough pork for Mr. Bush he'll sign it; at least historically that's
the case.
So, on the one hand, you have Mr. Bush: a proven spendthrift who's
against pay-go. On the other you have Mr. Kerry: a man who broke with
his own party to balance the budget and the only candidate promising
to restore pay-go rules.
True fiscal conservatives will vote for Mr. Kerry - those who don't
forfeit their fiscal conservative credentials.
