I'm not sure about that. The first Sam Adams isn't bad but starting with the second one the after taste is nasty. I think that's what the problem was.
They spent a fortune marketing it in NY and nobody would drink it. 10 years later it's common in NY pubs, not sure why people finally accepted it. I know they gave up in the UK. They sold it there as Boston Lager. Noone would drink it there either.
