What makes you say that Presidential trust with the American people is down? Or Congressional Trust, National Security, Civil Liberties etc. ? Only the results of the election will say that. So far the two are running neck and neck.
So the only facts and statistics we have to go on suggests that a lot of the American people think Bush is doing a good job. Throw in the shennanigans at the polling stations and the disenfranchising of the black voter in America and running neck and neck seems equal to Bush winning the election.
