Wasn't a dig. I read some of this other entries to form an opinion if he really was an elitist or if he was joking around. But to answer your question... 200M won't be enough next year. Because that essentially means that the team is about the same but a year older. Maybe they pick up one arm. We need help at CF and SP. I also couldn't believe that Cairo was the starting 2nd baseman. Most likely they will just pay the rest of Brown's contract and ship him off to somewhere. "My way or the Padre!" This is because Boston is a better constructed team. Boston had a clear advantage in starting pitching. Manny is a fierce hitter but none of their position players were as good as NY's. The thing is that other then Manny that, none of them really makes more then their worth. IN fact a lot of them make less then their production. Keith Foulke at $3M a year? That is a steal. Bellhorn at $.5M. The list goes on. I'm a bit worried that the Yanks might not be able to get Beltran. Heard Peter Gammons say that the Cubs might be able to pull off a 3-way deal to unload Sosa, pay some bad contracts, and get Beltran. Pavano will be the key. Mussina, Pavano, Vasquez (who I think can fix his problems next year), and Lieber. They are still one arm short but that is a good starting rotation. Not great, but good enough to win. -- 2004 - The year $184M couldn't buy a pennant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:134488 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
