Well, the people that think this is grounds for impeachment need to take a look at the Constitution, the President will always be able to say the CIA report at the time, the foreign intel from many countries and the actions of Saddam himself pointed to one conclusion, he had WMD.
Do I think the reasons below were enough to goto war, well, yes, I do, I think that given the choice between allowing Iraq to create a new weapons program, with no UN control or sanctions would be the most ludicrous thing in the world. This is why the 'Stockpiles of WMD' and 'active chemical and biological programme' was used instead. I suppose some people will be comfortable thinking that they were lied to, but it was for a 'greater good' because otherwise Bush would not have gotten the support from America or elsewhere that he needed to go to war. The thing is, that you could never know for certain what would happen after sanctions were lifted. I am of the opinion that there would still have been an active inspections program, and if there were non compliance with that program then military force may have been more accepted and understood. Some people think that such actions may be grounds for impeachment, and sets a dangerous trend for future decisions and communicae by that Administration. Some people choose not to blindly trust that their government have their best interest at heart without any checks and balances. Some people like the founding fathers of America, that knew the dangers of a government unchecked all too well.
