Gel,

The fact is we do not know the full account of things. What we do know
is that the insurgents in Falluja have been putting suicide belts on
severely wounded fighters. Several marines have died when these
wounded fighters have blown themselves up trying to take out a few of
the infidel. Additionally I noticed that Al-Jazera has broadcast an
edited verison of that tape. It was edited in such a way to inflame
their audience.

Its unfortunate that it happened, but such does happen. Given the
pressures that these marines are under, I'm surprised that a lot more
of this sort of incident has not happened. It speaks very well of
their training and professionalism.

The other side, the insurgents are much worse. Their track record
includes torturing and killing prisoners by beheading. yesterday for
instance a group broke into a Bagdad hospital and kidnapped a wounded
Iraqi soldier. His mutilated corpse was found several hours later.
According to the news reports I read, he underwent several hours of
fairly brutal torture.

the insurgent who was shot was no innocent. In all likelihood had the
positions been reversed he would have done the same to that marine,
but only after torturing him.

I think that the marine who did that should be investigated and
charged for violating military codes of conduct. But I can understand
why it happened.
