Umm..Your President committed himself to war. There aren't enough people joining the army, so they need to do all sorts of unheard of shenanigans to get bodies into the field. No diplomacy, just Force.
The army and the military becomes top priority once a policy of projection of force is in place. But, the majority of Americans don't have a problem with this, this is what they voted for, and this for the next Four years. -Gel -----Original Message----- From: Ken Ketsdever [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] There is a huge problem. I joined a three days before my 19th birthday. I served in the Marines on active duty until I was 25. Back then (in the old days) we only had a 6 year comitment usually 3 active 3 inactive reserves or 4 and 2. I was enlisted not an officer. But don't you think kids are seeing us old farts getting called back up and saying to themselves why in the hell I would I join the military dedicate 8 years of my life only to be called back up 15 or 20 years down the road. When our military personell complete their obligation they should be able to move forward without ever worrying about being called back up. There aren't enough ever shrinking benefits for our men and women to have to concern themselves with the idea of being called up down the road. THey have dedicated their time and should be thanked and left alone. Otherwise we take the risk when you are 18 only to be worried about being called up again in 15 years after you have a family, career etc..
