Well I'm not of the opinion that overt projection of Force and a rejection of
Diplomacy is the right way to go.
Therefore I'm going to have a hard time trying to understand why there are
those that do.

A few of the reasons that I have gathered from talking to a variety of
Americans seem to be:

1) We are America. We are the biggest, strongest and best in the world. Fuck
off and die.

2) Fucking Sand Niggers bombed our towers. Fuck the world, Nuke them off the
map.If killing thousands of Sand Niggers would save
just one Ameican Life I would do it in a heartbeat! I am a Real American, not
some liberal pansy.

3) America is under high threat from terrorist attack, and must aggressively
defend herself against terrorist threats. The President
and the intelligence community knows best where to project our power and strike
next in order to keep us safe. We trust them to do
what's right for us.

4) America's economy is floundering, we need to secure oil and our place in the
Middle East to secure our future, Iraq is
strategically the best way to do this at the present time.We need to seize this
oppurtunity now because it may not come again.

5) America should bring Democracy to the world and become it's benevolent
dictator, uniting all countries under one world body...led
by America.

6) I don't care what we do, as long as we don't get attacked.I don't want to
feel afraid anymore.

7) America has a god given duty and right to bring peace and liberty to all
countries of the world. It is the duty of America to
bring God to the people.

8) I really think that Iraq is deeply involved in the 9/11 plot to attack
America, I believe Iraq has stockpiles of Weapons, tons
and tons of biochemical weapons, and the reasons we haven't found them is they
moved everything to Syria without us knowing. So
Saddam had to be destroyed immediately in order to secure America and stop
Saddam from giving WMD to terrorists which he was
actively trying to do.

9) Iraq is a much safer place today, the Iraqi people love us and there are
little to no Civilian casualties. We're doing the Right
Thing for the Iraqi people.

10) The world is out to destroy America, so America must hit first with
everything it has.

These are the top points that I can discern from reading the opinions posted on
this and other mailing lists, and from Speaking to
Americans. Most of the people believe in a few of them together, rather than
having just one reason.

The only two that I even remotely agree with as partially valid are 3 and 4.
I'm not saying I agree totally with 3 and 4, but I can
understand the rationale behind those sentiments. And, well..I can partially
empathise with 6 as well.

1 and 2 really shocked me.
