Well I have considered WebStat.com. They start at $10/month and
I have a few clients to institute that for. So the costs would
go to about $120 per client per year.

Was hoping to keep the costs to a minimum if possible.

Also was looking to have the ability to export the data in a PDF
format to send to them monthly. If I can extract it, I can put
the data to PDF just have to have a good layout.

I have also considered instead of going with a service, was to
purchase a statistics program and run it monthly.

WebTrends runs about $400 I think

Any other you know of that is good enough and a reasonable cost?

I do have access to the log files. I have an FTP process to download
the log file daily since the shared hosting only maintains 30 days
of files. So to run a complete month, I have to make sure I have the
files.

I'd probably go with client cookies if I'm going to roll my own, just
because it'd be easier.

Is there a reason you're not using a prebuilt web stats package?
