Wow, I do think that you should rethink your position on the DB as just a place to store data. T-SQL will seriously increase the processing speed of your larger queries. If you're doing any kind of nested queries in CF, T-SQL is the way to go. It's not necessarily the easiest thing to program, and there are some hoops to jump through on some occasions, but for any data manipulation that requires more than one query to implement, TSQL is your best friend from a performance standpoint - and it is front-end neutral as well.
