Controlling your emotions and using the law to defend yourself should
be the lesson here.

The cup dude should've been singled out, kicked out, possibly
suspended for life from buying tickets or attending games if that's
feasible, and maybe prosecuted for assault.

Both of the people lost control, however, and so now both should pay a
penalty, but the largest burden should be on the player for 2 reasons:
1.) He's a professional and, 2.) he attacked the guy with intent to
harm him way more than a plastic cup full of water would've.
