That's just simply not true.

There are thousands of talented basketball players out there that AREN'T
professionals. Professionals are paid large amounts of money primarily
because of their talent, but there's more than that. As we all know from our
professions, with more money comes more responsibilities. One of those
responsibilities is personal conduct and behavior when at work. Remember,
this guys was at work, representing his "company".

The NBA, according to ESPN the other night, runs a very active campaign
aimed at both rookies and veterans to help train and prepare them for what
they are going to confront during the course of a professional sports
career. So not only are they paid handsomely, they receive formal "training"
if you will on how to handle themselves in pressure situations.

As such, I see no reason why they should not be held to a higher standard
than idiot joe-six pack sitting in the stands.

So, i think that being a "professional" DOES mean you are more able to stand
up to having sh*t thrown at you, otherwise, you aren't really a
professional...you are just like the idiot who started it, and should
probably be paid and treated accordingly.
