For all the SE guys/gals out there... We have a site that we have done a redeesign for, the previous developer had some pretty bad page naming conventions, and we went ahead and renamed the pages so that it would be easier to maintain.
HOWEVER - the current pages are very nicely entrenched into the search engines, and if we lose those pages, three years worth of SE work will be down the drain. Is there a safe redirect that we can use for these old pages so that Google, etc will not blackball or drop the ranking of these pages? Has anyone done this before? I want to avoid having to make copies of the new design with all the page names... Thanks!
