I've got the opposite opinion: I watch so little TV that when I DO watch I want it to be GREAT! That being said we had the same 27" Philco "Turbo Mono" TV for 11 years. Last year it blew and we dropped in the range of $1700 for a decent, tho' not at all top of the line HDTV/Surround System.
