Who said anything about a "humane war?" All war is dirty nasty and ugly. There will be civilian casualties, always. We have already had over 6000. The difference is that we have not been deliberately targeting civilians. The Taleban and Al-Queda have been. There is a significant difference between how we conduct a war and how they do it. During the last year and a half there have been ample instances of the Taliban in their original attacks on Mus-al-sharif of their troops hearding civilians in front of them during assaults on the Northern Alliance lines.
