wow, has anyone read The Stranger? Actually, I think he is guilty and it was the taped conversations with Amber that did it for me. He told her he had "lost" his wife while Laci was still unsuspectingly getting ready for Christmas. All well and good and married men *have* been known to lie to their girlfriends. Except that a few days later, he *does* "lose" Laci. Also, the stuff about not wanting his own children although he was very willing to play and be with Amber's little girl is pretty damning. He was adamant about it on those tapes. I think the difference between Amber's little girl and Laci's little boy was that he would have owed child support for Conor. That's a pretty sleazy motive for murder.
However, I find it pretty amazing that the physical evidence amounts to one hair. Either he's a very careful bastard, or they screwed up. Most 32-bit operating systems leave a virtual address space of just under 2GB for each program. In that 2GB you fit your application program, some shared library code, the heap and stack space, etc. -- but there should still be more than 1GB for your data. Even if your computer only has 128MB of RAM, with modern hard drives and virtual memory architecture... I'd figure on being able to handle files of around 200MB on smaller semi-modern systems, maybe as big as 1GB or more on high-end systems, while loading the whole thing into RAM. Note that this may vary somewhat depending on the operating system you target. As far as using RegEx, you could only use it on the portion of the file loaded into memory. You might consider doing that, and realize that if there is no match, then you only have a part of the block in memory, so read some more and try again... I have a 5.5 SP4 box, fully patched, accepting mail from a perimiter relay box. Today two emails arrived at pretty much the same time, from some company who look to be having some "odd" email issues. The emails arrived with the same sender, subject, and sending system message ID, but different content, and Exchange tracking shows them both as having been transferred to the three recipients mailboxes. Odd thing is, they only have one of them and I have no idea as to why, all the logs right from the perimeter to Exchange say we received two emails. Let me make sure I'm following you: 1. You have a 3COM switch connected to a Cisco switch. 2. The 3COM switch reports no interface errors 3. The Cisco switch reports no interface errors 4. A monitoring program reports error on those same interfaces Is that correct? What is the monitoring program actually monitoring? Is it grabbing interface stats via SNMP? What sorts of errors are you seeing? My first question, regardless of any errors you're seeing, is why are you hard-setting your speed and duplex settings? Unless you have a really good reason for doing so, they should be set to AUTO.
