Okay - so I'm too tired to watch it now, but I'm recording it. However I watch the first five minutes and saw quite literally DOZENS of things that I HATED:
+) The nameless ones are "taking over the world"? +) Kossel getting laid? +) That girl yelling "Ged" over and over with no mention of the use name? +) That girl being there in first place (did they really need to add so many female roles)? +) Ged's not black. +) He didn't have visions. +) His age is completely screwed up (he would have been at Roke by then). I may be setting my jaw but are they going to do ANYTHING right in this? I'll watch it tomorrow, but that first five minutes didn't bode well for it. This was the PERFECT mini-series story! A short book told in a conversational way! "A Wizard of Earthsea", as it is, with no Hollywood "polish" could have easily been told in four hours EXACTLY AS IT IS. Why must they hurt me so?
