Sorry I hadn't seen this yet. That really, really sucks that Linksys' repeater implementation doesn't support WPA. It looks like D-Link's repeater does, but it only works with their products. http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=267
Or you could do similar to what Ray did and use the house electrical wiring for the bridge and put a wireless point upstairs.
